- Ryan McRyhew's second album is coming next spring.
Thug Entrancer will release his second full-length, Arcology, on March 4th.
American producer Ryan McRyhew initially surfaced with a handful of self-released EPs, before making a splash last year with his Software debut, Death After Life. Where that one was heavily influenced by footwork, this one moves into more freeform territory, according to the label. Software goes on to say that Arcology "expands on Death After Life's themes of isolation and displacement by envisioning how similar emotions would play out in a fantastical environment... [scoring] a VR addict's routine or a sleepless night in a still-suit."
"The album title stems from the idea of a structure or object that is entirely self-sufficient and life-generating with little to no outside influence," McRyhew himself says.
Oliver Chapoy of Certain Creatures and Black Rain fame helped McRyhew on the record's final mixes, while Milton Melvin Croissant III helped out with the artwork and some forthcoming video pieces.
