  • Further Records will release another LP from Strategy on February 26th. Prolific Portland artist Paul Dickow first appeared on the Seattle label with last year's Noise Tape Self, a collection of ambient tracks made with a four-track machine. Information Pollution is similarly stripped-back. Dickow moved into a new house and without enough space for a proper studio, so he could only make use of a few devices for the album's recording. Using a reel-to-reel tape deck, some effects boxes and radios, he made Information Pollution without any samples or synthesizers. "I discovered a lot of ghostly shortwave sounds, but also ambulance, parking, and school bus dispatch channels on forgotten frequencies that I think might have been once used for police or broadcast TV," he says.
