  • ADAM Audio founder Klaus Heinz and his son, Frederick Knop, have launched a new speaker company, Heinz Electrodynamic Designs (HEDD). The company's website announces that HEDD will reveal their Series ONE line of studio monitors and a set of input modules at this week's NAMM conference in Anaheim. Apart from promising a "nearly linear frequency response" in their new monitors, HEDD are also implementing what they're calling HEDD Bridge, an input module that allows you to send audio to the monitors via ethernet systems such as Dante and AES67, with USB and Bluetooth connectivity to be implemented in the future. HEDD claims to be the first company to implement audio-over-IP technology in studio monitors. Heinz is best known for his work as managing director and head of research and development at ADAM Audio, a highly regarded German speaker manufacturer that experienced financial difficulties at the tail-end of 2014.
