  • Halcyon will reopen at Output in Williamsburg, Brooklyn this weekend. It's the record store's fourth location since opening in Carrol Gardens, Brooklyn, in 1999. Last year they moved from their long-standing DUMBO spot to a pop-up shop in South Williamsburg. This weekend they'll move into a new permanent location inside the nearby Output nightclub. The new space, located on the northeast side of the Output building, will house a two-floor cafe and event space in addition to the vinyl shelves. The shop promises 5,000 titles with an emphasis on house, techno, bass and hip-hop, as well as plenty of "indie labels, ambient tones and dusty rare grooves." As with their previous locations, shoppers can expect sets from visiting DJs and staff on their in-house Funktion One soundsystem. The cafe will serve coffee, pastries and sandwiches in the afternoon as well as pizzas and cocktails at night. It'll be open seven days a week from noon through 8 PM, with extended hours for special events. The shop opens this Friday, February 5th, at noon.
