  • Plans for London's night tube are back on track, with the largest tube-affiliated union urging its members to accept London Underground's latest offer. This represents a breakthrough for the proposed service, which was initially due to start in September 2015 before being delayed and later suspended. As reported in The Telegraph, the executive of the Rail, Maritime And Transport Union (RMT) has received a new four-year pay and conditions deal from London Underground, containing, among other things, various additional bonuses for drivers and other staff. RMT is to recommend its 10,000 members to accept the offer when the voting starts on February 11th. Proposing 24-hour service on Friday and Saturday nights across five underground lines, the night tube would benefit the capital's nighttime economy. Three other unions are involved in the dispute, and it's not yet known what their reaction to the deal will be.
