- The 11-track double LP features the likes of Frak, Beatnik Love Affair and Phillip Jeck.
Compassion Crew will release a vinyl compilation of obscurities on Dublin-based label Major Problems in April.
Following releases on Rush Hour and Dolly, the Irish producer has put together Compassion Cuts, Tapes & Acetates, a double LP that covers an eclectic range of artists, eras and styles, from Roger Davy's library music and Frak's off-kilter house, to San Francisco's Big City Orchestra. Touch affiliate Phillip Jeck's proto-house tribute to Walter Gibbons and Arthur Russell also features. Apparently, the tracklist was assembled over a period of years and took Compassion Crew from the American Midwest to Rome, Germany and beyond in pursuit of the licences. A special edition will also be available in a run of 25, which includes the compilation, a copy of Defuser's private press LP, Music For A Comic Book Video, and a screen print of the cover art.
Major Problems is run by Barry Redsetta, a long-time resident at Dublin's Twisted Pepper and a key figure of the city's scene. The label has been releasing music from the likes of New Jackson and Terriers since 2013.
