  • The Discogs iPhone app comes out on Monday, February 29th. The online catalogue and retailer announced details of their mobile app late last year. It comes out for iPhone users on Monday, and Discogs has published a full run-down of the first version's features. It will allow users to review and modify their collections (even when offline), check the market price for a particular release, track items they're hunting for and use the phone's camera to look up releases by barcode. (The Android version is still in beta mode, and users can sign up for that here.) The app doesn't yet integrate every feature available in-browser. Users can't make purchases directly in the app, for instance, though Discogs assures that the transition between app and browser is quick and easy. They also can't send messages and they don't get the same robust filtering and sorting functions. You can read Discogs' statement about the app's development process, and the changes they plan to make with future versions, here. Watch a video about how it works below.
