Brisbane’s famous ‘Advent*Jah Festival’ will be able to return to its old stomping ground, the RNA showgrounds for what looks set to be the final time. In a statement released in their last newsletter Advent*Jah have said:”Well it seems thanks to our noise management strategy developed & implemented in consultation with Accoustic expert David Moore & The Brisbane City Council - we only had two noise complaints at Easter!
As a result we will be able to go back to the RNA showgrounds for the Summer 2003 Advent*jah on November 29(woo hoo!).
On the down side the future of all night rave / festival events at the RNA is reaching it's conclusion. David Moore (who is our Noise consultant as well as doing work for the likes of the Livid & Big Day Out Festivals) has advised that in his opinion the development of apartments happening on the corner site at Brookes St & St Pauls Terrace will be the final straw & will completely kill off any chance of having noisy all night events continue at the RNA in 2004. The guestimated time for those apartments to go up is about 8 months to completion.” Already lined up for The Summer Advent*jah are rooms hosted by the UK's big event brands Frantic & Slinky. Expect the usual fine blend of local and international stars for one final “Hurrah” at the RNA grounds. Stay tuned for more.
