The HiFi Bar plays host to the Ecko Unlimited MC Battle For Supremacy- Australia Vs New Zealand this Sunday, June 8, in Melbourne. The concept of the event is to get the best MC talent Australia and New Zealand have to offer, match them up in a boxing ring, and let them battle it out until the bitter end. The organisers can't guarantee there'll be no bloodshed, but they do guarantee a verbal assault with tempers flared and brain cells searching for the wittiest of insults and rhymes, as competitors attempt to unhinge their opponents and move onto the next round.
Representing Australia will be Delta, Simplex, Ciecmate, Weapon X, Ozi Batla, Hyjack, K West, and Knowledge. In the opposing corner for New Zealand will be Word Perfect, Con Psy, Abbott, Tyna, Hegz, Hazadus, Tourettes, and Cyphanetik. Also performing will be Dubious Bros (Mai FM, Shock Records), Bliss N Eso (Sydney), Melbourne's own J Red ( 2001 Aus Vestax Champ, 2001/02 Aus team DMC champ, Lyrical Commission) and Ethic (Underground solo MC from USA).
Tickets are $23 plus booking fee and are available from Obese, Central Station, Collectors Corner and Home Base. Witness the sharpest of tongue and mind battling it out in verses of rhyme.
