- The Hard Wax exclusive follows up on a Pitchfork feature from last week.
DJ Sotofett has released an exclusive digital single via Hard Wax.
The two-track EP, comprising two mixes of a track called "Philip Sherburne, Your Word Should Be Worth More Than The Ignorance Of Pitchfork," follows up on an article by Sherburne, the respected electronic music writer currently working as a contributing editor at Pitchfork. (He has also written for RA in previous years.)
That piece, published July 13th, is named The Holdouts: An Exploration Of Vinyl-Only Labels in the Digital Age, and centers around an interview with DJ Sotofett focusing on his commitment to pressing up releases from the Sex Tags universe exclusively on wax. Only a couple remixes from Sotofett have ever made it to digital, both of them released on the French imprint Versatile Records. This is his first solo digital release and implies he takes some issue with the leading publication's treatment of his interview.
