- Now a solo act under the name V Kim, the Australian producer teams up with Divoli S'vere on "Gold Chainz."
V Kim has a new single coming out on Silverback Recordings in August.
Victoria Kim first emerged as a Sydney-based duo, mixing influences from k-pop, ballroom and Jersey club into a heady sort of dance music. Their last single, 2015's "Kiko Kicks" on Car Crash Set, earned them an RA Recommends seal of approval. V Kim, now a solo act, returns for the first new release of original material since then. "Gold Chainz" again sees the Sydney producer working with Atlanta's Divoli S'vere, and according to the label it's meant to be the "peak of Jade High, his fever dream soundtrack to neon dragon statues and ice-cold jade roulette tables" in a "fictional mega-casino in Macau." Fade To Mind boss Kingdom remixes "Gold Chainz" on the B-side. The artwork, pictured right, was done by Shaw at Neithercorp, who has also done visuals for labels like Diskotopia.
