  • The DMC Technics World DJ Championship has been held in over 30 countries annually since 1986. Every year over 5000 DJs enter, hoping to win the world title and take home the highly coveted first place prize of two gold plated turntables. The Past world champion hall of fame includes luminary DJs Cash Money, Q-Bert, Mixmaster Mike(Beastie Boys), Roc Raida(X-Ecutioners), DJ Noize, A-Trak, DJ Craze and Plus One(Scratch Perverts). DMC And Motorola are proud to announce that this years Australian competition will see heats happen in six states. The champion turntablists who win their state heat will then be flown to Melbourne to compete in the national finals, first prize being flights to London to represent Australia in the World Finals. Each competing DJ will try to win over the judges and crowd alike with a six minute routine of their maddest cuts, scratches, flares, crabs and body tricks with emphasis always being on skill and originality . Featuring a star studded lineup of local and interstate live acts and djs, each event in the competition will also have stacks of audience giveaways courtesy of motorola, dmc, technics, ortofon, udg, juice magazine and General Pants.
