One of the UK biggest dance music publications was shutdown last month by its publisher IPC. Muzik Magazine has been shutdown, and will see one last issue hit the shelves. It was one of the more wide spread dance music focused magazine and is closed due to a decrease in sales and advertisement revenue.
Tim Brooks from the Publisher IPC said: "Just like the broader Music industry of which we're proud to be a part, we have to channel our resources to where the consumers are".
“We have a very talented and dedicated team on Muzik, and I want to thank them all for their hard work and their grace under pressure. Sadly, nothing they could do in isolation was going to turn around this sector of the Music market.”
Ben Turner, who started Muzik Mag in 1995, is the current creative director behind recently the recently lime-lighted DanceStar Awards, which have also recently started a DanceStar Magazine. The (final) August edition of the magazine will be available from July 9.
