Simian Mobile Disco have outlined their next album, Welcome To Sideways.
James Ford and Jas Shaw's first full-length since 2014's mostly ambient Whorl falls between a compilation and a studio album. Coming out on Delicacies—their label for straightforward club material—the LP gathers up highlights from their 2016 run of EPs along with new, unreleased tracks. The music was made during the first few months of 2016 and then played out live on tour. The duo have also included an hour-long, single-track mixed version of the album (which also incorporates extra remixes and loops).
"Hopefully people who have stuck with us this long, and appreciate the fact that we aren’t trying to repeat ourselves with every album, will enjoy another slight turn sideways," says Shaw, explaining the title.
