Electric Calm V2 CoverAfter the first Electric Calm compilation was quietly released and surprised many with its simple yet soothing mix of chill-out styled sounds a second was always destined to be announced. Electric Calm V.2 is continuing from where the first release left off. Where V.1 was a retrospective of GU's the Quad Communications label, V.2 is a projection of upcoming tranquil and atmospheric sounds mastered to perfection.

V.2 will feature production from Trafik, Bluefish, Pako and Frederick, Lo-Step (Melbourne's Luke Chable and Phil K), Avatar, Spanner, Twisted Air and J-Punch. The man (Andrew Archer) known better as the 'Forth' who is responsible for this calming masterpiece, in explaining V.2 said:
"An Electric Calm album should control a space of time and sound. It should flow through genre, meter and mood, heightening and lowering your anaesthetized senses. Yet it should never awake them, only aid them to remain in their dream-like state, happy in their own remote existence

"Certain sounds have the ability to invade your mind and control it. These songs, and the intricate way in which they have been blended, are specifically designed to gently encompass your mind and console it. Welcome to your Electric Relaxation."
This is not simply a mix created on a set of decks with a mixer, each track has been edited, layered, chopped, changed and essentially 'Calmed' to achieve a rather unique and atmospheric listening experience. Electric Calm is set to hit shelves in the UK & World on August 25 and in the USA on the 2nd of September. To read the review of Electric Calm V.1 hit the link below.

Tue, 02 Sep 2003I really loved the first one as well......Especially the ambience and warmth of the first part....a little too breaky towards the end though. Is this 2nd one more on the ambient tip or more on the breaks tip?
