  • Daniel Lopatin, AKA Oneohtrix Point Never, is releasing a remastered version of Eccojams Vol. 1. The cassette tape was originally released back in 2010 under the name Chuck Person. The album was something of a twist on chopped and screwed mixtapes, taking sections of popular '70s and '80s tracks (like Toto's "Africa" and Fleetwood Mac's "Only Over You") and looping them at various speeds with effects—a style that helped lay the blueprint for what would become vaporwave. The tape has since become a hot commodity, and this new version, available in digital formats from Lopatin's website, is the first official digital release. It was ripped from the original tape and remastered earlier this year. Check out "A2," also known as "Angel."
