  • London's newest record shop, Lobster Records, will open this weekend. The store, located on Sidworth Street in London Fields, is the latest project from Lobster Theremin, the label and distribution company run by Jimmy Asquith. A blurb on the shop's Facebook page describes it as "a clean, elegant yet still raw space," with a record wall, four listening stations and a 60-tape rack with a Sony tape deck. Lobster Records will mostly stock titles from the 200-plus labels handled by Lobster Distribution, as well as "an array of tapes, merch, zines and bits and bobs." You can also buy records from the shop's website. Lobster Records will open to the public at 11 AM on Saturday, January 21st. It'll then shut for two days, before reopening for seven days a week on Tuesday, January 24th.
