  • Resident Advisor and Absolut will collaborate with four UK promoters for an event series called Alternate Cuts. Alternate Cuts is a unique events series celebrating the multiple facets of nightlife. We'll be telling the story of the crews that keep their local nightlife scenes fresh, the crews who, outside their nine-to-fives, work tirelessly to put on killer parties. For little or no return, these promoters bring their communities together. To celebrate this, we've collaborated with four crews to bring some of our favourite artists to play alternative sets. They'll be exploring corners of their record collections that rarely see the light of day, in some of the best intimate venues in the UK. On March 23rd, Leeds-based collective Butter Side Up will host a rare house set from Marcel Dettmann, something that usually only happens at Panorama Bar once a year. That's going down at Wire Club, with Annie Errez supporting. The following week, on Thursday, March 30th, we head to Liverpool, home of Abandon Silence, where KiNK, RA’s #1 live act in 2015 and 2016, will show off his love of classic jungle at Buyers Club. Local up-and-comer Or:La will also play. We're at Manchester's Soup Kitchen on April 6th, joined by one of techno's true innovators, Derrick May. He'll be playing a set of the music that influenced him when he was starting out in Detroit. Expect to hear anything from obscure Japanese new wave to Ultravox. He'll be supported by the team from meandyou.. We close the series at The Pickle Factory in London on April 13th, when Uruguay's Nicolas Lutz will delve into his collection of garage, dubstep and breaks. That one's in partnership with local outfit Toi Toi. Tickets for each of the parties will be £5. To register your interest, plese RSVP here.
