  • A new vinyl pressing plant is opening in the Netherlands. Chris Roorda of the Deeptrax record store and Pascal Thulin have teamed up to form Deepgrooves, a one-stop shop for vinyl manufacturing. Two new vinyl pressing machines are being installed in the Blokhuispoort, which served as Leeuwarden's prison from the 15th century until 2007. It has since been converted into a centre for creative entrepreneurs. Deepgrooves will also handle mastering and artwork and is focusing on smaller labels and special edition releases. The site will also include a viewing window, so visitors can see the vinyl manufacturing process for themselves.
