  • Going Good co-founder Brian Not Brian has started a new reissue label called Midnight Drive. Midnight Drive lists "techno, disco, Italo, electronics, house, library, cosmic and ambient frequencies" as its bedrocks. Brian Not Brian (real name Brian Morrison), also notes he'll be working with Atelier Superplus to craft artwork close to—or inspired by—the original versions. The label already has two releases under its belt, Private Life, a 1998 EP from Blue Maxx, the collaborative project of Damon Wild and Crydamoure co-founder Mederic Nebinger, and Harmonic Disassembly, a rare EP from '90s London duo LA Synthesis. The label's 2018 agenda includes a reissue of Clive Stevens & Brainchild 1984 Italo tune, Mystery Man, with a new remix from Velvet Season & The Hearts of Gold, as well as an ultra-rare 1972 electronic soul 7-inch, the Makers' Don't Challenge Me. (The A-side off the latter appeared on the 2012 compilation Personal Space (Electronic Soul 1974 - 1984).) Morrison also says he's at work on a reissue of Belgian ambient techno group Mappa Mundi's lone 1990 LP, Musaics.
