- The label uncovered Warrior's cover version on a record digging trip to South Africa.
Rush Hour will press up an Italo classic, Klein & MBO's "The MBO Theme," backed with a rare South African version from Warrior.
"The MBO Theme," written by Italian-American duo Mario Boncaldo and Tony Carrasco, was released on Atlantic in 1983 and played by the likes of Ron Hardy and Larry Levan. The Rush Hour team came across a cover from Warrior while searching for records in South Africa.
"Because the country was culturally banned at the time, a lot of releases weren't imported or exported, even when a track was huge, like 'The Klein & MBO Theme,'" the label says. "So South African musicians would create their own versions which were sold locally."
