  • The Black Dog will release two albums, Post -Truth and Black Daisy Wheel, on May 25th through Dust Science Recordings. Post - Truth and Black Daisy Wheel will be the first albums to come from The Black Dog, AKA Ken Downie and Martin and Richard Dust, since 2015's Neither/Neither. Both are described as reflections of a world where disinformation and suspicion run rampant: "The mindset is beyond paranoid, the discourse so far post-fact that only opinion and assumed identity matter. Arguing against proven science is a part of the entry criteria, and wilful pedantry its standard currency... You couldn't make it up, even though that is exactly what the conspiratorial fringe (now one sharp corner from the mainstream) always do." The albums offer divergent stylistic approaches. We're told Post -Truth features "high energy dance floor constructions," written at a time when the group "was fully engaged with people whose paranoia was in full swing." Black Daisy Wheel, which includes a collaboration with Emika, presents ambient music that's "reflective, often intense [and] frequently compassionate."
