  • Iury Lech's LP Otra Rumorosa Superficie is the first release on a new Utopia Records sub-label, Utopia Originals. Label founder Alex Bradley announced the record via Instagram, along with a clip of a previously unreleased outtake from the album. Otra Rumorosa Superficie originally came out on cassette in 1989. It was the first release from the Spanish-Ukrainian composer, whose work encompasses minimalism, ambience and new age with an electroacoustic sound palette. This isn't the first time his work has been reissued by a contemporary label—Berlin imprint Cocktail d'Amore released Lech's 1990 LP, Musica Para El Fin De Los Cantos, last year, along with a remix EP that just came out last week. The Utopia Originals version of Otra Rumorosa Superficie features a reworked running order, and removes two tracks in favour of the unreleased "Nominosum II." It's also the first time the album has been available on vinyl. In his Instagram post, Bradley says that the label will release more of "this kind of thing... music from my archive or ones impossible to find." Bradley also runs Utopia Records, which has put out music from the likes of Vangelis Katsoulis and Lars Bartkuhn.
