Peoples Potential Unlimited will have a total of four new records out by early April.
PPU owner Andrew Morgan is known for sourcing rare synthesizer funk from marginal musicians. As noted in our 2017 label of the month feature on PPU, he also releases new music from many of the artists he comes into contact with. That's the case for Robbie M, one of the original PPU artists and the man behind boogie classic "Danger Zone" by Midnight Express. Dance With Me, out now, is his third LP for PPU, and includes his experiments with vocoder.
Early April also sees another 7-inch from Dreamcast and Sasac, the D.C. and Stockholm duo's follow-up to last year's Liquid Deep. PPU is also exclusively distributing a 12-inch from a new group called Fleet Magic, Texas musicians who make "dream quality bump and grind," the label says. These records follow a January 2018 album from outsider rapper Mix-O-Rap, Eyes Of A Key.
