It's always nice and exciting to hear that one of your favourite DJ's and producers is about to start playing regularly in your home town. If you happen to be in London or close there by, you can rely on Fabric to pave the dancing tiles with gold and push the envelope out a little further. All hail the new master of minimal - Ricardo Villalobos. Villalobos is to kick-start his new Saturday residency in true minimal techno style on November 29th with none other than the maestro Richie Hawtin. All reports this season from Ibiza were that that Ricardo and Richie laid on some of the best back 2 back sets of the summer with their unique blend of dirty house and freaked up techno. On the back of Villalobos' excellent 'Alcachofa' release on Playhouse and Hawtin's disturbingly good 'Closer' album, you can expect room 1 to be positively dripping in quality music all night long. News has it that Villalobos' following visit to Fabric on February 28 will see him drag along pal Luciano for a live set. Name check the Perlon, Force Inc, and Playhouse labels which has seen both these fellas release quality music under their own names, various production combinations ('Sense Club') and in partnership with a variety of others, the common elements are mostly groovy and minimal.
