  • This Sunday 14th December is the launch of Freeform, a summer event bringing together innovative DJs, musicians and filmmakers for a unique program of Sunday evening entertainment at The Loft, King Street Wharf, Sydney. Freeform builds on the success of previous projects by Sydney creative unit Neue, who were involved in events such as Superpeople and Schatz. This Sunday's launch features a set by respected DJ Gav Smith from the United Kingdom, founder of Mr Bongo and Disorient Records and a prominent figure on the more discerning side of the international club and festival circuit. Gav is known for his eclectic sets of soulful Brazilian, broken beat, deep disco and afro selections, as well as successful compilations including the 'Brazilian Beats' series. The full summer program is announced on Sunday with a different lineup of Sydney's top DJs and producers playing alongside respected jazz musicians every week. Resident DJ Nathan McLay of Superpeople is back, and ready to inspire lots of creativity in the DJs as well musicians. The event also features a dedicated space for film. The Loft's Sunday night 'mini cinema' will showcase a predominantly local based assortment of visual goodies, along with screenings of works by selected overseas screen artists. For full details on the massive lineup of DJs, muscians, and filmakers that will be appearing at Freeform at The Loft over the summer, visit the events page via the link below. Music starts from 5pm, films from sunset and best of all, entry to Freeform is FREE!
