Darren Emerson, Ex Underworld front man and Global Underground DJ, played an unannounced surprise set at Lola (Singapore) on the weekend from 3am til dawn, giving the locals a real treat.. Emerson who is in town to headline the much anticipated ‘Essential Ministry Of Sounds NYE’ party at the Singapore Expo, dropped dance floor stormers from his own Underwater label (DJ magazine’s Label of the Year) as well as Underworld classics like Born Slippy as he rocked the 500 capacity club which was packed to the rafters!
Emerson, who is in Singapore with wife and daughter, arrived on Saturday December 27th and has enjoyed Christmas Shopping, Local food and is eager with anticipation for NYE.
Organised by the Centro 360 Group, which also owns and operates Centro, Lola, Embargo and Restaurant 360 in Singapore as well as Centro Jakarta (recently opened), the ‘Essential Ministry Of Sounds NYE’ in Singapore attracted 15,000 punters last year and is set to pull in over 20,000 this year as headliners Darren Emerson, Dave Seaman, Leeroy Thornhill, Lisa Loud and Stereomovers perform this coming Wednesday.
