After months of speculation and rumour, Canberras highly anticipated new multi-million dollar venue Academy opens its doors this Friday. Decked out in an old cinema in the heart of the city, the venue has two levels, the main Academy area that kept the full size cinema screen and boasts the massive EAW Avalon soundsystem and private room for hire, and the Candy Bar – an ultra chic lounge & cocktail bar the venue promises to provide Canberra with a whole new level of sophistication in its nightlife. The opening weekend will see local dj's Chris Fraser, Nash T, Milkbar Nick, Ashley Feraude, Blake and Matt W take to the decks with house music supremo Andy Van joining them on the Sunday night.
