The Cargo gang have this week got themselves a rather splendid line-up this week entitled 'La Suisse'. Showcasing the spirit of Swiss youth culture in their uber cool club scene, La Suisse runs from Tuesday 17th to Saturday 22nd of February. We recommend getting down there at least once this week to catch contemporary, eclectic multi-genre, fusion of Swiss, British and international DJ's, live act's, visual artists and multi-media. Haaazah! You can catch Mich Gerber and Imogen Heap (Frou Frou) doing the live thing on Tuesday night with Minus 8 from Compost Records....all for nix. Yep free.
On Wednesday night you can get down right innovative with electronica and sonic exploration from Zurich based Spezial Material. Performing will be label producers Intricate & CIO who intend to explore "melodic yet crunchy rhythms" while James Liddel (Warp Records) offers support and Solotempo plays live. Its free again from 8pm to 1am!
But for us, its all about Champion Sound on Friday night with hosts Mental Groove who bring along Luluxpo for live duties. With a title like CHAMPION SOUND PRESENTS GENEVA'S CALLING STOMPING ELECTROID BOOGIE POP, we're expecting nothing but good things from these two European stars as showcase their trademark electro and deep techno. DJ support comes from DJ Water Lily who so flustered up the NME lot with her gritty electro styles that they wrote "Irresistibly trashy electro-pop that stands head and shoulders above the rest". Convinced? Do something different this Friday. 8pm - 3am £5 before 9/£9 after.
