  • pokerflat recordsBerlin’s Poker Flat Recordings will be celebrating its fifth anniversary this Sunday down at Freeform @ The Loft , the lush water front venue at Sydney’s king Street Wharf. Founded by DJ and producer Steve Bug in 1999, Poker Flat has released over over forty 12’s and ten albums in the last 5 years. Many from Sydney will know of Poker Flat through Mad Racket parties where Steve Bug & The Martini Bros have performed, whilst at ‘Freeform’ this Sunday evening will be live electro outfit The Stick Figures playing as a five piece. The boys will also be pushing vinyl alongside Freeform resident and TownB founder Nathan McLay. As usual a selection of 5 short films by local filmmakers will be screened in the Freeform Cinema after dark. To help celebrate Poker Flat, EQ recordings have released a double compilation CD ‘Five Years of Poker Flat’ that will be launched on the night showcasing highlights from the labels finest moments, together with 9 tracks exclusively produced for this album plus a bonus second disc mixed by John Tejada. The event runs from 5:00pm – Midnight and those keen on some doorlist action should e-mail Nathan direct at the link below:
