  • Having barely unpacked his cases following his intercontinental DJ tour of the UK, Europe, USA, Australia and Asia, FreQ Nasty is planning to put on a huge show back in the ol’ London town. April 2nd sees FreQ debut ‘The Video Nasty Experience’ at Fabric, combining decks, FX, live MCs and a multi-screen VJ show featuring animation from some of the most exciting talents out there. Collaborators include Jamie Hewlitt’s ‘Zombie Flesh Eaters’, Weta Digital (the New Zealand team who animated Gollum for the Lord Of The Rings trilogy), art director Cindy Lee (who picked up a Palme D’Or at last year’s Cannes Film Festival) and a “…host of other cutting edge graphics and text heads twisting up shit to create a new format for these troubled times”. As FreQ himself explains,
“This is the visual equivalent of Michael More and Public Enemy getting pissed with the cast of Monsters Inc. at an anti-globalisation riot, this is going to be a truly innovative live experience.
Also, on April 12th, Skint Records release ‘Brooklyn To Brixton’, one of the highlights of last autumn’s Bring Me The Head Of FreQ Nasty longplayer. Featuring vocals from NYC MC Kovas, the single package features a laidback hip hop mix from Big Dada’s Ty and a nasty breaks workout from The Freestylers. Look out for further dates for The Video Nasty Experience later this Northern Hemmisphere summer. To catch a sneak preview of the show log on to:
