Friction Intimate in conjunction with Renaissance and Stomp are proud to present the return of the whiz kid himself, James Zabiela. James will be returning to Lot 33 on Friday 11 June as part of his Australian tour to promote the inaugural CD release of "Renaissance: Alive Volume 1". Zabiela is set to join the likes of Sasha, John Digweed and Dave Seaman with this debut CD release for Renaissance, a 2-disc mix CD to be distributed by Stomp in mid-June.

On top of this, ex-Canberra star Jono Fernandez is back for this very special night. Add to this Canberra’s hottest property, Jeff Drake and Mikah Freeman, aka Two Square. Complete with their full DJ set up of 3 Technics 1200 turntables, 3 CDJ 1000’s, 2 DJM 600 mixers and an EFX 500, this is shaping to be the finest ever Friction Intimate and quite possibly THE event of the year.

As with all Friction Intimates, tickets will be strictly limited to just 220. This event will sell out so it is strongly advised to get tickets early to avoid disappointment. Known for going the extra mile, Friction is helping to get the party started by offered 2 glasses of FREE Champagne for ticket holders arriving on the night before 11:00pm.

Tickets are $28+bf and available from usual Canberra outlets and go on sale Friday 7 May. Doors open at 9:30pm with Two Square beginning proceedings. With James Zabiela set to play a 4 hour set, please note his early start time of 12:30am.

Mon, 08 Nov 2004huge response...I can say Mwah that JZ was amazing technically, but was perhaps a little too deep and dark and musically didn't grab me. The vibe was a sort of perpetuated anticipation, without the release of 'arrival', if you know what I mean.I didn't see Mr Z's appearance the previous year (as i was in London), but all those who went to both said this gig never went through the roof, like he did last time he played in the ACT.Still, a memorable night.
