Australia's biggest recorded music retailer has been duped into buying thousands of bootleg CDs manufactured in Southeast Asia. They can be distinguished by faded images, missing trademarks and spelling mistakes. The 270-outlet Sanity chain unknowingly retailed copies of Faith Hill's "Breathe", Eva Cassidy's "Songbird", Nelly Furtado's "Whoa Nelly!" and Linkin Park's "Hybrid Theory" before withdrawing them from sale after discovering they were counterfeit.
