It’s now a fact that Australia has become a favourite destination for many international DJs over the years. Even more so, the nation’s capital, Canberra, has become a much loved and definite point of call for many of the world’s best and those in the know. As was previously announced, Canberra’s Friction are proudly presenting one of dance music’s truest icons, DJ Sasha in his first confirmed Australian date, at The Academy on Friday, 5th November 2004.
Playing alongside one of the world’s best DJs, the line-up for this must see event has been finalised. Supporting Sasha on his anticipated return will be:
Two Square (aka Jeff Drake & Mikah Freeman)
The capital’s best return to support the world’s best. The dynamic duo that is Jeff and Mikah are no strangers to big situations. Having already supported some of the best including James Zabiela, Hybrid and Danny Howells to name a few, Two Square are guaranteed to play one of the most scorching sets of their so-far fruitful career.
Fast making a name for himself on the international stage, Vance is a must have addition for this anticipated evening. Thanks to a string of critically acclaimed productions including his rework of one of Sasha’s favourite classics, ‘Raincry’, he is set to make waves on this truly unique evening.
While a quiet achiever on the scene, Ross’s collaboration with Vance Musgrove in the guise of ‘Freak Out’ made the final cut for one of this year’s best compilations, Balance 006 mixed by Australia’s most successful export, Anthony Pappa. While known primarily as a producer, Ross is set to explode as a newfound DJ talent.
As a long time Friction resident, Dave has quickly established himself as a versatile DJ. With the ability to play across all genres and situations, he is set to open this event in proper Canberra style.
Tickets will cost $45+bf and go on sale Monday, 30th August. These will be strictly limited to 600 so as to ensure a truly intimate Friction experience and the rare opportunity to get up close and personal with the world’s truest progressive icon, DJ Sasha. Tickets will be available from Landspeed Records, Civic; Stocks Clothing Stores, Civic, Woden, Tuggeranong and Belconnen. Predicted to be THE party of the year, this one’s not to be missed.
