As RA revealed last month DMC have announced that Mixmag Live compilations are set to make a return with former Mixmag columnist and Radio 1 star Fergie to release the first album in years. After exploding onto the scene in 1991 with Carl Cox and Dave Seaman the masters behind volume one (the first ever legal DJ mix compilation), it set trends for the next decade. The full tracklisting is as below:

Fergie – Mixmag Live
Wet Muzik Vol 21 - "Misjah"
Holgi Star - "Pimp Plates EP"
Angel Alanis - "Bitches and Drum Machines"
Mark Antonio and R Cerrone – "Total Impact EP"
Bryan Cox - "Flip The Script"
Bryan Cox - "Alpine"
Bryan Cox - "Movin Thru Your System"
Tube Tech - "Riders of the Storm"
Valentino Kanzyani - "La Sala Loca"
Generation Gap - "Last Rites"
Jel Ford and Oscar Charlie - "Evasive Manouveres"
Gleave and Johnson - "Mutha Fucker" (unsigned)
Fergie - "Spin Energy" (Gleave and Johnson remix)

Fergie’s naked ambition to succeed in many avenues within the industry continues as he is set to release his first compilation album for more than 2 years; out September 6. The rising talents of Nic Fanciulli will be showcased in the 2nd ‘Mixmag Live’ release on October 4.

Fri, 15 Oct 2004Oh, he was alright at global gathering i thought. Anyone can get a smile from me by dropping pontape in the middle of a mix (albeit the same pontape vs just kick deluxe bootleg, whatever it's called of cox's that cox had just himself dropped 2 hours earlier *cough*). Or let me put it another way - he was a damn sight better than i was fearing when i got dragged in there by mates.

Thu, 14 Oct 2004Ants, you couldn't list some of the artists featured on that Mixmag comp., could you? I'd be interested to see what kind of techno he plays. Or is it what is sometimes called tech/trance?
