You may remember in July we published a story about the Melbourne Fringe Festival sound installation at Café Voyeur. During July, the tables in Kent Street were set up with microphones, recording the conversations of café regulars. Their witty repartee, idle gossip and intellectual discussions were be taken to the City Frequencies studio and turned into a sound installation featuring the voices of Fitzroy café society in action. Café Voyeur now has had its studio tweaks and is now available for your listening pleasure at Kent Street, 201 Smith Street Fitzroy, on the following days:
Café Voyeur listening times
Thursday, 7th of October, at 8pm
Friday, 8th of October, at 6pm
Saturday, 9th of October, at 2pm and 6pm
Sunday, 10th of October, at 2pm and 6pm
Café Voyeur is produced by City Frequencies, a collaboration between sound artists Matt Adair and Nick Wilson, producing sound works which utilise field recordings sourced from the metropolitan environment.
