It seems like Kevin Saunderson has only just left the country after playing the last Blow Your Own Way party. There's been no slacking at Soma Corp though, as the next Blow Your Own Way is scheduled for Friday 3 December with special guest DJ Kenny Larkin (Detroit, USA).
Not your usual DJ, Kenny Larkin is also a professional comedian. For the last few years, Larkin has been on a self-imposed, music hiatus, in order to pursue his comedy career in some of the biggest comedy clubs in L.A, inching his way closer to a prized regular spot at one of the top 3 clubs. Once his comedy career was established, Larkin turned his focus back to his music and the career he had been building since 1989, including running his own label Art Of Dance and releasing records on it, Plus 8, and Warp. The year 2004 will prove to be, quite arguably, the best year for Larkin musically. Larkin has completed a genre-bending, beautifully sculpted project for release with Peacefrog Records releasing his new album "The Narcissist".
Kenny will be support by a cast of Melbourne's best. The Nexo Soundsystem will be in action in the main room, with large DVD projector screen, wall projections, disco lights, full bar facilities and an outdoor garden rooftop with an array of ferns and brand new comfy bean bags. This is the perfect way to kick-start the summer season for Detroit fans.
Blow Your Own Way featuring Kenny Larkin is on at the Public Office, 100 Adderley St, West Melbourne. Doors open at 10pm and the event runs through to 6:30am.
