  • Attending The Falls Festival to welcome in the New Year is a long standing tradition for many who love to escape the city and enjoy the outdoors along with a superb music lineup. While the event focusses on bands and live music there is also much on offer for dance fans. This year the event runs from 30 December 2004 to 1 January 2005 at Lorne, Victoria and Marion Bay, Tasmania. The site of the Victorian event is a a beautiful farm nestled off Erskine Falls Road in the Otway rainforest above Lorne and the Great Ocean Road. The main arena is formed from a spectacular natural amphitheatre that is big enough to hold the whole crowd. It has a perfect gentle slope so you can relax up the back and still hear and see everything. The second arena is the perfect place to catch housey grooves, hip hop or broken beats during the two day event. Some of the artists and DJs featuring during the event that are sure to please dance fans are De La Soul, Hilltop Hoods, Downsyde, John Course, Brewster B, and Kid Kenobi and MC Shureshock who are playing at Fabric this Friday 19 November alongside the Plump DJs! For the full lineup see below. Tickets for the Festival are $99 +bf and include two days of music and camping on the site. If you want to make a long weekend of it camping will be available on the night of the 29 December at both The Falls Festival in Victoria and Tasmania at the extra cost of $15 each.
