  • PlantLife is Jack Splash with his 10 piece band and they're about to embark on their first ever tour of Australia. Bored with the constraints of existing genres, PlantLife set out to break down the barriers between hip hop, soul, rock and good old fashioned FUNK music. In the tradition of legendary funk and soul godfathers like James Brown, George Clinton, Sly Stone & Prince, PlantLife serves up a healthy dose of sensuality and politics while providing a groove strong enough to shake the system to it’s core. Their tight sound has raised the bar for the new age of funk. Consisting of Jack Splash (lead vocals, instrumentation & production), Panda One (instrumentation & production), Dena Deadly (vocals) and Rashida (DJ and background vocals), Plant Life has created a musical soundscape that critics consider an instant classic. Their 2004 debut LP, The Return of Jack Splash! was all 70’s soul & funk, 80’s electro, 90’s b-boy politics and futuristic ideals. With critics and like-minded musicians everywhere from Pharell Williams of the Neptunes to Gilles Peterson buzzing about them, don’t miss PlantLife as they sprout their improvised modern funk soul brilliance LIVE. Tickets go on sale at the usual outlets on Friday 11 Febuary. Prices are shown below for each city. Plantlife Australian Tour Thursday 17 March - Perth, Metro City - $53 inc (bf + gst) Friday 18 March – Melbourne, The Prince - $55 +bf Saturday 19 March – Sydney, Metro Theatre - $55 +bf
