It's not every day you get to hear the DJ who is unarguably, after a lengthy & untouched stint in the industry, still one of the dance world's musical leaders for free. On Wednesday 9th March John Digweed makes an exclusive appearance at AKA, playing a special set of classics, rarities, huge anthems and wild obscurities to celebrate the launch of his new Choice compilation on Azuli.
With DJs from the Azuli family also playing, this is a one-off party that will be special, memorable and amazingly and absolutely free! The event marks the latest release in the Choice series. Released on the highly respected Azuli label 'Choice' has seen previous contributors such as Frankie Knuckles, Louie Vega, Derrick Carter and Jeff Mills.
The album launch party at AKA is an extremely rare opportunity to hear Digweed playing a different kind of set. A DJ who is generally experienced playing his trademark sound in highly charged 'super-club' environs, John will be playing in the relaxed, sociable setting of a best loved club-bar, presenting an exclusive set as wide-ranging in scope as his Choice selection.
