The Y4K tour kicks off this weekend (check dates here) and Phil K will be doing a special show on Saturday 5 March at Room680 to launch his Y4K CD and demonstrate the new Pioneer DJM-1000 mixer & EFX-1000 FX unit. Phil's Y4K is an eclectic mix that ranges from subtle progressive textures to mashed up guitars to dancefloor fillers none of which seem out of place as they sit next to each other in the mix. The tracklist of Phil's Y4K is a true testament to the sound that he has championed since the beginning of his career, and I can't wait to hear it played out during a club set!
Also playing on the night will be Jono Fernandez, who will be doing a live show. Those of you would caught his live debut when supporting James Zabiela and Phil K earlier this year know how good this show is! Jono’s dance music career to date has been one of rapid incline and constant momentum, and it’s showing little commitment to relenting in 2005, as his latest floor knackering Prodigy mash-up, Beat My Poison, is demonstrating on dancefloors all over the world. The full event lineup for the night is shown below.
To win a double pass to the Room party and a free Y4K CD email the answer to the following question to the guestlist address at firstname.lastname@example.org. Question: Name another Australian artist featured on the Phil K Y4K release besides Phil himself? If you need a hint, go here. Entry on the night is only $15. There will also be Motorola and Y4K CD giveaways on the night.
