Come the first Saturday of July, techno enthusiasts in Holland will be tiptoeing across the tulips at Spaarnwoude on the outskirts of Amsterdam for the fifth installment of the outdoor Awakenings Festival.
This year, Monumental, the organisation behind the festival and its associated monthly Amsterdam nights, has assembled a very select group of Dutch and international techno artists who will be spread over four stages with the main stage, Stage 1 hosting a very impressive all-Dutch line-up including Michel de Hey, Joris Voorn, Secret Cinema and Steve Rachmad.
The diverse techno line-up which will feature everything from electronic minimalism to full-on banging techno includes seasoned internationals like Adam Beyer, Cari Lekebusch, Steve Bicknell, Valentino Kanzyani and Umek in addition to artists who have played at the Awakenings nights in Amsterdam like Chris Hope and PET Duo.
' RA ' is particularly excited about the Stage 4 line-up which includes some of our favourite and super-talented DJs and producers like the Wighnomy Bros, Dominik Eulberg, Ricardo Villalobos, Magda and Gabriel Ananda.
The complete 2005 Awakenings Festival line-up is as follows:
Stage 1: 2000 and one & Jerome, Joris Voorn, Secret Cinema, Bart Skils, Darko Esser, Gideon, Michel de Hey, Shinedoe, Steve Rachmad
