  • The WetMusik crew return after 10 months with Robot Samba, this Friday 24 June at Platform One. Melbourne’s favourite techno posse are back to celebrate The Best of WetMusik Vol. 1 compilation, marking 25 releases for the Wetmusik label, and launching their new funkier imprint Robot Samba. The special guest of Robot Samba will be Jorge Watts (Loop Killaz/Adelaide). He'll be supported by Boogs, Simon Coyle, Ben Cromack and Simon Digby, plus in the elektro-booty-crack-house arena Damian Laird, Richie Rich, Emily Clarke, Mike Hunt and Cecille. Jorge Watts has flown under the radar in Australia, living in Adelaide and producing songs under a number of different monikers such as Loop Killaz, Tokyo 3, Cycloid, Azteckid and Early Species. He has had releases on a plethora of labels including WetMusik, Undefined, Vast, Thrill Seekers, Liquid House Division, Global Trax and SubSounds. Dubbed “the golden boy” by the likes of Cajmere and DJ Rush, during a recent stint in Chicago, Watts picked up a string of DJ, remix and release work, including the Spin Me Round and Yazz - Don’t Go bootlegs while managing the windy city’s legendary Supreme Records. His debut WetMusik release Down Underground was licensed for Misstress Barbara and DJ Misjah mix CDs, and sat firmly in Carl Cox’s Top 10 for a number of weeks. Robot Samba will be Watt's first ever performance in Melbourne, so catch him and our excellent local talent on Friday 24 June. See the event listings for ticket information.
