- Progressive night Private Function shifts clubs again, and lines up for the return of special guest Steve Porter in August.
Melbourne progressive night Private Function look to be back on course after another venue shift. After a short spell at Platform One the PF team have decided to move to Altitude on Russell St. The club is well known for hosting many popular trance nights and used to be the home of Likuid. It has recently undergone some renovations and will soon have a new balcony, even better sound and some improvements to the internal space of the club.
The team of Private Function residents has also had a revamp, giving them a stronger and more diverse rotational lineup than ever before. Gavin Martin, Aaron Roach, Dean Millson and Sasha Petrovic will still be steering the good ship PF as per usual. New faces joining the team are local young talent Steve May and Big Kev.
PF will now be held on the the last Friday of every month starting from Friday 29 July. The special guest of the night will be Chris Meehan, who is one half of Vapour Recordings. The party will mark his last gig in Melbourne before he heads back over to Portugal to hook back up with production and label partner Kasey Taylor. Chris has played locally for the last 5 years. Over the majority of 2004 however he's been based overseas, taking his sound to the rest of the world and working rather prolifically with Kasey in the studio.

The Private Function party on August 26 is worth noting down now in your diaries as the special guest will be none other than Steve Porter. Steve is currently on a global tour to promote his forthcoming Porterhouse EP due out in November 2005. Those who saw Steve at his first PF gig will be there in force, such as the musical charm and energy of this excellent DJ. Add the intimate vibe at Altitude and this is sure to be a HUGE night of dancing, music and fun!
