New York city will soon experience the festival that has rocked Miami over recent years with the announcement of 'Ultra.NY' on September 16th at Central Park’s Rumsey Playfield. Fittingly coinciding with the end of the CMJ Music Marathon, one of the largest music conferences for college students and the beginning of Billboard's Dance Music Summit the Afternoon event which begins at 4:30pm will include 3 arena’s full of big name artists. These have already been confirmed:

Ultra.NY Line-up
Main Stage
The Chemical Brothers
Paul Oakenfold
Timo Mass

Ultra Tent
Erick Morillo
Danny Tenaglia

NYC Tent
David Waxman & Boris
Special guest Kevens

With loads more artists to be announced an Ultra debut in the big Apple no wonder Russell Faibisch, owner of the Ultra Music Festival is so excited:
“It is very exciting to have the opportunity to bring ULTRA to the people of New York. Central Park is a world famous venue that we are honored to be working with. UMF has joined forces with the Ultra Records team to make this project a reality and we are committed to producing the highest quality outdoor dance event that NY has ever seen”
Expect regular RA updates on the event in the lead up, but for now enjoy the thought of Ultra coming to Central Park and check out the Ultra.NY website.

Thu, 06 Sep 2007I went to the first one two years ago that had the exact same line-up (save Maas and add Mylo - who didn't even get to play).

The Chems in the park are cool. The show as a package is nothing extraordinary.

Mon, 01 Aug 2005Yeah, to be honest the huge arena was rocking irrelevant of Spanish nature of not. Completely see your point on the Q-Tip action jazz but the Chems do with their extortionate rates is up to them and if they don't wanna push the entertainment factor it's their call really, would have gone down so well though.

lil_jazzwrote
Mon, 01 Aug 2005The Spanish weren't the only one's the chem's had going at sonar! their set was ridiculously good.My only gripe is that for the £50k odd or so they would have received for that set they could've flown in Q-tip to perform on Push the Button. dontcha think?
