  • Sounds have announced that they will be launching a new weekly night called Safari, which will take place at the very chic, newly renovated inner city club, Plan B (above the Bourbon). The first installment of Safari will take place on Friday September 2nd with future nights to be held every Friday featuring two rooms of DJs, bands, live acts and internationals. In addition to having undergone a cosmetic facelift the venue has also had a pumping new sound system installed by SLAVE, who also installed the sound system at Twilo in New York and many more internationally-acclaimed nightclubs. Residents in Safari's main arena will appear on rotation and will include Goodwill, Ben Korbel, Declan Lee, Dave Slade, Mark Murphy, Luna, Johnny Rad and Trix. Safari's back room residents, also on rotation, include Lippo, Will Styles, Kim Moyes (The Presets), Learned Hand, Hesse (Sneaky), Ken Cloud and Black Angus (Sneaky). The backroom will also feature a regular spot named Choose Your Own Safari, where a non-DJ will perform a one hour guest spot via two iPods. Safari will be opening this spot to anyone and everyone, from priests to taxi drivers to record company executives to homeless people to B-grade movie stars and of course you. Scheduled upcoming live events at Safari include Infusion (in their final Sydney appearance for 2005, Stick Figures and Midnight Juggernauts).
