Sydney’s independent radio station FBi 94.5FM will run a supporter drive from November 4th-13th as it offers itself up as Sydney's 'leading music learning institution'.
From its launch back in 2003, FBi's mission has been the promotion of
New and emerging music with a strong focus on Australian and Sydney music. Without commercial playlist obligations the station has gone from strength to strength offering a station that brings you up to speed in all that's vibrant, exciting and innovative in the original thinking musical landscape.
During the supporter drive FBi listeners are encouraged to call-in and become “FBi Supporters” from $3 a month. All monies raised will go towards keeping the not-for-profit station on air. Lack of external financial support sees this as a key initiative for the station
”FBi currently broadcasts with a community license and receives little funding from State or Federal sources. By developing a base of regular financial Supporters, FBi aims to maintain its independence – a crucial factor in being able to push new music and culture across the airwaves.”
Those new and returning FBi supporters who sign up during the Drive will all be in the running to win:
Fbi Supporter Drive Prizes
- The Ultimate Summer Festival Package - with tickets to the hottest
music and arts events of the silly season.
- A posh night of culture at the Sydney Opera House - including tickets to a performance at The Studio, a swanky dinner at Bennelong and a night at the Four Seasons hotel.
- Nokia 6101 mobile phones
- A dedicated party bus to take you and 50 friends to the city's best clubs
These guys are doing a cracking job, so RA urges you to support and enjoy a unique offering amongst Sydney’s cluttered airwaves.
So come on, this November exercise your right to a well-rounded musical education, enroll with FBi and help us to bring melodic light to the lives of the musically less fortunate.
