London has a habit of encouraging artists from a wide variety of talents to work together for the greater good. Clubnights regularly promote a good cross over of artists to please patrons and next Wednesday this will go to a new level as one of the world’s rock legend drummers jams alongside a back2back mash-up of DJs for a good cause. Ex Motley Crew drummer Tommy Lee will be showcasing his talents and well documented appreciation for electronic beats, (He has been spotted causing trouble in the Fabric DJ Booth with Freeland in recent months), through a live performance on drums, whilst the DJ line-up wouldn’t look out of place headlining Fabric on the weekend, let alone mid week in an intimate East London space.

Teaming up together for the charity ‘Our World, Our Say’, whose goal is to raise awareness of and appose the ID Cards Bill and the National Identity Register which is being pushed through parliament right now, all of the artists performing on the night will play for free. Event organiser Adam Freeland is clearly incensed by the Government initivte and is hoping this event will raise the profile of the ‘Our World, Our Say’ campaign:” Opposing the ID Cards Bill &the National Identity Register is something I feel strongly about. Not only is it an infringement on our basic human rights (privacy and discrimination), I just don't want my identity on one central database which could potentially be hacked. I don't want to show my fingerprint scan every time I make a transaction. I don't want the government to spend at least £19 billion of our money on a scheme that clearly won't hinder terrorism. I want the right to keep my identity to myself. I don't want to live in a Police state, which is where we are rapidly going unless we speak out and oppose these bills, which quietly take away our rights one at a time. I'd like to fight to hang on to this thin veil of western democracy while I can before we all become like epsilons from an Aldous Huxley novel."
There is a £5 minimum donation, with no guestlist. The Medicine Bar is a small venue and this is a Big Line up so get there early to avoid disappointment. All proceeds go to the cause.
