The annual Earthcore Carnival takes place in rural Victoria this weekend, combining fresh air, blue skies and hundreds of DJs and performers. The party is happening on a 500 acre property adjacent to the Goulburn River. There will be many different arenas of music including the Monster mainfloor, Circus Bersekus Big Top Band tent, Hydra trance floor, the Sunny Zone, Market Messy Mashup, the Bonsai Bonanza Japanese floor and the deluxe Club 333 vip zone.

Such a big event also means some catering is required, especially a coffee to get you awake for the awesome early morning sets. There will be over 60 market stalls with tasty treats and caffeine fixes, as well as some new garments for clubbing. The workshops on offer range from learning how to annoy your neighbours with that fancy african drum of yours to meditation, and other esoteric mind expanding and refracting experiences.

The gates open at 12 noon on Friday 25 November. Before you head off to the countryside, hit the Earthcore website to familiarise yourself with the event before you get there! You can download and print out directions to the site and set times for the many stages. Have a read of the safety and general info pages. Earthcore is a pet-free zone, and not a BYO event. Finally, the organisers advise that "Big and Hairy Security in the area will not tolerate inappropriate behaviour or fluro leg warmers. Both are unfashionable and will not win you any friends."

With the lineup featuring Propellerheads, Simon Posford, The Amorphous Androgynous, Juno Reactor, System 7, Perry Farrell, Martin Solveig, Orbital's Phil Hartnoll, Tsuyoshi Suzuki and more the stage is set for a massive weekend of partying or even just lounging around in your own DIY camp zone and soaking up the vibe with your friends.

Mon, 21 Nov 2005My tip Charlee, pack some wet wipes. They're fantastic for cleaning for hands and face when you don't have any water and are feeling all grubby and dusty!Another handy thing - a maglite torch is good for if you want to walk from your tent to different stages in the dark.
