Parkbeat livens up Boxing Day

For those who want to dance off the Christmas pudding instead of watching the Boxing Day test cricket on the television, Parkbeat will provide the solution with a free outdoors event.

The Melbourne DJ collective known as Darkbeat wish to give something back to all the people who have helped them have such a wonderful year. Thus they're putting on their annual free party in the park called Parkbeat, on December 26 (Boxing Day) at Ceres Park in Brunswick from 10 am to 10 pm.

While you digest your Christmas lunch or try to work it off with a fit of dancing, the Darkbeat crew will entertain you with a lineup that includes various styles and some hugely popular names including Jono Fernandez, Bamboo (Nick Dem Q and Hess), Dan Mangan, Dean Millson, Keltec, the Darkbeat residents and more. Check the set times below!

The event is also BYO alcohol so for once you don't need to go out with a wallet full of drinking money. Pack a picnic blanket and some coldies and you're away! For directions to Ceres Park check out Melways map 30, B7. To get to Ceres by public transport, catch the 96 tram, which runs from Bourke Street, all the way up Nicholson Street until you get to the end of the line (about 15 minutes from the City). Turn right down Blythe Street and walk about 150 metres until you see the Ceres sign on the left. Follow the signs (and listen for the bass). See you there!

Parkbeat Set Times
10.00 - 11.00am - Ferris
11.00 - 12.00 - Lil Miss Breaks
12.00 - 1.00 - Dj Promo
1.00 - 2.00 - Dean Millson
